working with numbers. After high school, she attended Villanova University and Montclair University with a focus on accounting and business. She worked for several years as an office manager in a family owned business, but there was always a pull to return to school and pursue a teaching degree. Specifically, she wanted to teach middle school math. Her dream was realized when she received her education degree from Rider University and was hired as a middle school math teacher in her home state of New Jersey. For 14+ years, she has worked in education and has spent most of that time teaching math in grades five through eight. On a personal level, Sharon, along with her husband of 35 years, has raised two daughters, now both married, and most recently became a grandmother for the first time, on the palindrome date of 02/02/2020.
Sharon attended workshops where she learned how to incorporate a mindfulness practice into daily classes, as well as understanding the scientific benefits of meditation for young people. It is so important for students to feel confident when learning, as well as being able to focus in an often stressful and overstimulated environment. Sharon believes that mindfulness practice in education can play an important role in helping students reach their full potential. Helping to relieve math anxiety for students is one of her primary teaching goals.
relocated from New Jersey to South Carolina, she knew she wanted to stay in education and wanted to share her passion for math and mindfulness with her students. As a result, M³ Tutoring was born.
